Namanameh News Agency: Mahdieh Nasaj is one of the promising actresses in Iranian cinema and television who has been able to establish her position as an actress during these few years. We had a short conversation with her to which we invite you.
Ms. Nasaj, please tell to our audiences a little bit about your life and what motivated you to enter the field of acting?
I was born in 1981 in Tehran and have a bachelor’s degree in cinema directing from Soura University and a master’s degree in clinical psychology. In 2007, I was selected for a children’s series called “Chel Tikeh” and after that I entered the school of Ustad Samandarian and I became very interested in theater, which made me work in theater for many years. Until 2014 I only worked in theater and short films. Until I was selected for the series Aspirin, and after that I played a role in the series Under the Mother’s Foot, Minoo, Golden Time Cinema, Botox, Lobby, wasteland (winner of golden lion for best movie at venise festival 2020) and the Alien with My series, which will be aired soon on Channel 2.
What do you think are the differences between acting in theater, cinema and television?
In the medium of theater, the actor is always in full shot, and body language is more important, and due to the distance from the spectator, a bit of exaggeration in facial expressions may be needed. But in the picture, the slightest mimicry can be seen on the screen.
Which of the domestic and foreign actors of the game do you like?
I like the acting of many actors and every actor has good and bad games in his repertoire.
What is your opinion about emigrating from Iran?
Personally, I am not an immigrant!
Why don’t celebrities enter politics directly, but have supported a particular character or political current over the past few decades?
This question must be asked of them. I think the job of an actor and an artist is something other than politics. But advocacy of reform leyes in the nature of art, and the artist uses his art to reform himself and society. So it is natural that they are in favor of reform.
What was the reason for you to study clinical psychology and work in this field?
Because it helped my career a lot and it was the best field that I could continue with acting. Because both disciplines contribute a lot to growth and development.
What advice do you have for people who are interested in acting?
My advice to acting enthusiasts is to have another job as possible beside, to earn mony for their life . Because otherwise they are forced to accept everything and may deviate too far from their standards.
